KEY ITALIAN MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES
Electroform:
To simplify the process, a model, structured air pocket or resin is submerged in a precious metal bath. Through electrodeposition, the current builds a structurally sound metal shell and thick wall, which allows the model to be removed through a tiny hole. The process is used to create bold earrings, bangles and rings that are durable, lightweight and easy to wear. Although hollow, it is a technique perfected by Italian Artisans resulting in the high-end appearance without the extreme weight or cost.
Tubogas:
A signature Italian styling of jewelry that originated in the 1940s then became incredibly popular through iconic fashion houses. The technique is unique in that Italian goldsmiths wrap long interlocking gold metal strips around a core, connecting them without solder. The core is removed resulting in a flexible, fluid uniform tube, that is durable and spring-like. While there are many pieces that mass-manufacturers produce with a similar look, they are often cast. Italian Tubogas wears like no other and is produced in both high polish and satin finishes.
Diamond Cut Chain:
Italy produces some of the finest, expertly crafted diamond-cut chain finishes in the world. Goldsmiths create angular micro-facets that have an almost glittering effect as they move, resembling the illusion of diamonds. The technique maximizes light reflection, shine and sparkle and is a great option to layer.
Dual-Finish Designs:
These items are reversible and offer versatility for styling and occasions. One side is designed with a high-polish finish and the reverse satin or matte contrast. They are crafted with seamless closures and specialized edges. A single piece, with two distinct styles that catch light differently from several angles.
